Who Am I?

Hi, I’m Christie, the quilter behind Quilting by Christie. I began custom longarm quilting in 2017 at a quilt shop in Arkansas, where I discovered the joy of turning quilt tops into finished treasures. Now based in Idaho, I run a home-based studio where I offer both edge-to-edge and custom quilting services. I accept quilts locally in person and from quilters across the country through the mail. Every quilt is treated with care, creativity, and attention to detail—because I believe the final stitches should be just as meaningful as the first. E2E

Edge-to-Edge quilting (also called E2E or pantograph quilting) is a type of quilting design that runs continuously from one edge of the quilt to the other, covering the entire quilt top with a uniform pattern. The design is repeated in rows and does not change from block to block, making it a consistent and cohesive finish.

It’s a popular and cost-effective option that adds beautiful texture without taking away from the piecing of the quilt. Designs can be anything from simple loops and swirls to more intricate motifs like feathers, florals, or geometric shapes.

Semi-Custom

Semi-custom quilting is a mix between edge-to-edge and full custom work. It gives your quilt a little extra detail without going all the way into full custom pricing. For example, you might choose an all-over design for the center of the quilt, but have separate, more detailed quilting in the borders or special attention to feature blocks. It’s a great option if your quilt has areas you want to highlight but you still want to keep things budget-friendly. Kind of the best of both worlds!

Custom Quilting

Custom quilting means every part of your quilt gets special attention. Instead of using one repeating design, I tailor the quilting to fit each block, border, sashing, and open space. That might mean feathers in the borders, ruler work in the blocks, echoing around appliqué, or different designs in each section. It’s all about enhancing your quilt’s unique layout and making the piecing really stand out. Custom quilting takes more time and planning, but it creates a one-of-a-kind finish that truly brings your quilt to life.
